Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow will be headed to the 3DS Virtual Console next year

Today’s Nintendo Direct dropped a whole lot of big news, among the biggest was something I don’t think any of us picked. Nintendo made the surprise announcement that Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow will be making their way to the 3DS Virtual Console on Febuary 26th of next year. Nintendo is promising the original experience with this release with the only change made being to trading and battling with other people. With the absence of the Gameboy Link Cable players will now be able to trade wirelessly by connecting the 3DS system so you can still get yourself a Gengar or Alakazam if you so choose.

This is exciting news for Pokemaniacs for next year and acts as great news for a potential Gold and Silver release in the future.
