Red Dead Online 1.21 Update: Rockstar Revert To Former Patch

The recent Red Dead Online 1.21 update came under fire from the frustrated RD2 Online community after a variety of issues surfaced within the game. The problems within Red Dead Online’s 1.21 title update from connection issues and in-game glitches, became so bad that the community reached out to Rockstar Support.

In response, Rockstar said that they’d become “aware some players may currently be experiencing a range of issues including connection problems, low animal spawn counts, difficulty pitching Camps, entering Moonshine shacks and others.”

Now, Rockstar has taken action with the troublesome update. A new statement on their support page acknowledges that the recent update “unintentionally introduced a range of issues including connection problems, low animal spawn counts, difficulty pitching Camps, entering Moonshine shacks as well as others on PS4 and Xbox One.”

To remedy the recent bugs, Rockstar decided to revert “back to the previous version on those platforms, initially launched on July 28.”

“This should address these recent issues and restore stability – meanwhile, we will continue to work to eliminate any remaining issues through future updates.”

The Red Dead community since took to social media with footage of their various in-game calamities. One Twitter user, Joy, described Red Dead as “now totally unplayable.”

From a world absent of animals to a horse galloping in mid-air, played to Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean. Other clips involve glitching horses and carts, and inaccessible wagons.
