Resident Evil 4 Remake: How to Get The Primal Knife

Don’t get us wrong, we’d never suggest giving up your guns in Resident Evil 4 Remake. That being said, you shouldn’t discount how useful your trusty blade is either! The knife has seen a huge makeover from how it functioned in the original game. Now, instead of something you only unsheathe to smash boxes or get a few free hits in on a downed enemy, you can rely on the knife in many more situations.

Aside from parrying, breaking grabs, and instantly killing downed enemies, you can also find new and improved knives that can all be upgraded. Your standard Combat Knife can carry you through the game if you’re careful with it and repair it after it eventually breaks. However, the Primal Knife has one advantage that no other knife has. This guide teaches you how you can get this deadly blade in Resident Evil 4 Remake.

How to Get The Primal Knife in Resident Evil 4 Remake

Resident Evil 4 Remake Primal Knife

The Primal Knife is a special bonus weapon you need to unlock in Resident Evil 4 Remake. This won’t be as easy as unlocking some of the other bonus weapons. If you want to claim it, you will need to track down and destroy all 16 of the Clockwork Castellans in Resident Evil 4 Remake. There is one of these little toys in each chapter of the game, so keep an eye (or an ear) out for them.

After you’ve broken all those wind-up toys, the Primal Knife can be unlocked in the Extra Content Shop for 1,000 Challenge Points (CP). If you were to just look at its stats, you may not be all that impressed. Before you get too upset, listen to this: The Exclusive Upgrade for the Primal Knife makes it indestructible. That’s right, no matter how many parries, stabs, or finishers you pull off, this knife will never lose its edge. That alone will save you time, inventory space, and tons of Pesetas on repairs!

How do you feel about the new knife mechanics in Resident Evil 4 Remake? Does it make the game too easy, or maybe too hard? What’s your favorite weapon to use? If you’re missing any, such as the Red9, our guides can help you get them all!
