Resident Evil 4 Remake: How To Survive The Village Fight

Resident Evil 4 Remake is not one of those games that like to hold your hand as they teach you every single mechanic. No, this title loves to throw you into unexpected and dangerous situations that will likely kill you several times. One of the first instances that show this tendency is the Village Fight, where you are locked inside an area filled with murderous townspeople.

Leon can handle each Ganaodo foe alone, but it’s not so easy when he has to face more than a dozen opponents. That is why you will need to have a solid plan before entering this boss arena. However, if you don’t have any idea what to do next, this guide can tell you the best strategy that will help you survive this harrowing encounter in Resident Evil 4 Remake.

Rule number one that you need to remember is that you must keep moving. You should not stay in one place for too long or get stuck in a corner. The Ganados can quickly surround you, and at that point, you are minced meat.

Instead of going into this battle guns blazing, it’s better if you try to use stealth and obtain some extra items first. Avoid any villager targeting you and try to sneak into a house. You may find some ammo and herbs that will increase your survival rate. After you are done preparing yourself, here are two buildings that you need to keep an eye on:

The first is the flammable barn, and you can find it on your right side when you enter Village Square. One great method to kill several opponents at once is by walking through the building and shooting the lamp hanging on the ceiling. It will drop on top of the cow, and the burning animal will go berserk and kill several villagers on its path. The cow might not survive, but Leon will!

After that, you can enter the defensible house, where you can obtain the Shotgun on the second floor. Be aware that once you lock yourself in the building, the Chainsaw Man will spawn, and he will eventually break down the door.

Some Ganados will also try to climb into the second floor using ladders, but you can kick them down to prevent their entry. Unfortunately, it’s quite difficult to hold your ground in the house, especially with Dr. Salvador breathing down your neck. You can exit the building by going through a broken window on the second floor and jumping off the roof.

After that, you just need to keep moving and shooting any enemies that get too close until the Church Bell rings. If you don’t want to fight, the second-best method is to flee from any opponent. The game does not force you to kill any Ganados, and you can simply run around until four minutes have passed.

Keep an eye out for any bear traps on the ground. The townspeople may put several of them down during the battle, but you can use these devices to your advantage by goading the villagers into triggering their own traps. Once they are caught, you can launch Leon’s powerful kick attack to rip their legs off, incapacitating them in the process.

If you are playing on a New Game Plus save file, you can even skip the Village Fight altogether by shooting the Church Bell and causing it to ring early. Using a sniper rifle with a Scope to hit the object is best, but you can technically also shoot it using a handgun.

That is everything you need to know about surviving the Village Fight in Resident Evil 4 Remake. Before leaving, be sure to check out other Resident Evil 4 guides on GameLuster.
