We recently reported on the reveal of an upcoming PC release of Stellar Blade, the formerly PS5 exclusive action game where players slay their enemies and slay in their outfits. Unfortunately however, Sony has blocked the game from sale on Steam in over 130 countries, the overwhelming majority of which are not PlayStation Network supported territories. We knew that Sony had a policy where it’d integrate PSN connectivity to its PC ports, even sometimes making it mandatory – but the real surprise is that the developers at Shift Up didn’t know.
When one fan tweeted their upset that Stellar Blade isn’t available on Steam in their region, the official account responded saying “the PC version of Stellar Blade does not require a PSN account”, including a shocked face emoji. This suggests one of two possibilities. Either Sony thinks the game does require PSN, or it was intended to then rolled back, but Sony didn’t change the Steam countries that Stellar Blade on PC would be available for. Either way, there’s a severe miscommunication going on that’s blocking millions from seeing Stellar Blade on PC.
The PC release is an enticing option for those who haven’t played Stellar Blade on PS5, with unlocked frame rates, loads of graphics options and even new content all coming on June 11. Whether the citizens of the list of over 130 countries where Stellar Blade is blocked will get their hands on it any time soon remains to be seen, but we’ll be sure to update the story with more details when either Sony or Shift Up comments further on the blocking.

Not suprised, no wonder people in the Philippines just pirating the game.
