A sequel to Shift Up’s action game Stellar Blade, where players slay their enemies and slay in their outfits, has officially been confirmed by the developers. The reveal comes as part of their newly announced IP expansion plans, which details how Stellar Blade is expanding first with its console release, then it’s current platform expansion with its newly announced PC release, to be followed by a sequel sometime during or before 2027, when the expansion timeline ends.
This is great news for Stellar Blade fans, which there appears to be a lot of given how well it managed to sell on the Famitsu sales chart. The game originally released in April 2024, so that would be quite a quick turnaround to have a sequel ready to go just three years later during or before 2027, but Shift Up seem confident in their ability to expand the IP and increase its reach, and to do so rapidly.

It’s interesting to note that Stellar Blade is described as having “platform expansion” as part of its plan to reach new audiences. We know it has a PC release, but the vague phrasing of “platform” could suggest it may eventually see a release elsewhere, before the Stellar Blade sequel happens. This is complete speculation and does not confirm a release anywhere else, but the broad phrasing could perhaps be interpreted as a sign we’ll get Stellar Blade released on another console too. Time will tell!
