The hype surrounding Stellar Blade seems to be growing by the day and fans are dying to know as many details about the game as possible, and the game’s director has certainly provided. During a rather recent interview with the Korean gaming website, Rulliweb, Stellar Blade’s director, Kim Hyeong-tae, has reassured that the game would not feature microtransactions and players can expect to receive several free DLCs after launch.
Microtransactions have gained a somewhat infamous reputation with gamers and many have decried their implementation in games. As such, Kim Hyeong-tae stated that both him and his team “want to make it clear at this point that Stellar Blade will not require any additional expenses that gamers are not aware of beyond what they paid for the package,”. However, this doesn’t mean that the game won’t receive microtransactions in the future, it just means that when the game launches, microtransactions won’t be present and could be added by Shift Up at a later date.
Stellar Blade Director Kim Hyung Tae says they are preparing additional costumes and NG+ as free updates for after the games release!
– No microtransactions, except for if they do costume collaborations with another company's IP!

The director then went on to say “The only exception is if we create collaboration costumes with another company’s IP, those may be sold for a fee.” This does hint at the game perhaps having collaborations in the works but that is yet to be confirmed. While new outfits have yet to be guaranteed, players will have something else to look forward to post-launch as Kim said “also, there is no New Game+ in the launch version, so please look forward to it being updated very soon.”
The interview with Rulliweb, which was translated by X (formerly Twitter) user Genki, has definitely shed quite a bit of light on what Shift UP’s upcoming action title has in-store for players. So as of writing, Stellar Blade has no confirmed planned paid DLC content or paid collaboration outfits – but we will have wait and see if this stays true post-launch.
