Summer Games Done Quick 2020 Full Speedrun Schedule Revealed

In June, amidst tons of video game-centric events moving online or getting cancelled outright, fans were delighted to hear that beloved charity speedrunning celebration Summer Games Done Quick (SGDQ) fell into the latter camp. 2020’s SGDQ will be held in an all-digital format beginning on August 16 and will conclude on August 23.

This year’s event will feature over 140 speedruns of games ranging from new releases such as Final Fantasy VII Remake to beloved classics such as The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Portal 2, and even a reverse run of Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. There’s a few unexpected surprises mixed in as well – viewers will be able to check out Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg, Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron, and even a run of Pringles: The Video Game which is currently expected to last a mere five minutes!

All of the money raised during the event will be donated to Doctors Without Borders. This organization has fought on the front lines throughout the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, with its members serving as first responders in over 70 countries worldwide. All donations will contribute to limiting the spread of COVID-19 and treating infected patients.

Last year’s Summer Games Done Quick raised over $3 million USD for the cause, while last January’s Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ) donated $13 million to the Prevent Cancer Foundation.

You can check out the official SGDQ schedule on their Web site here to get your watching and listening plans ready before the event kicks off next month. Summer Games Done Quick can be watched via the event’s Twitch channel beginning at 11:30 AM Eastern time (that’s 4:30 PM for you fans in the UK!). Links to donate to Doctors Without Borders will be available throughout the event.
