Telltale Games Announces Release Date for Final Season of The Walking Dead

Telltale Games has officially announced the release date for the final season of its widely popular The Walking Dead series.

The first episode for the season will be available for Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4 on August 14. The Nintendo Switch will also be getting the final season, although a firm date has yet to be announced.

The game will follow an older Clementine and, as a play on the first season, Clem is charged with the protection of a young orphan boy named AJ. Fans of the series will spot the similarities here, as the original story followed Lee Everett as he became a father figure for a much younger Clem.

While players will be met with the familiar graphic novel-esque art style, the gameplay will be slightly changed for the final season. Telltale has added an over-the-shoulder camera angle that will allow players more freedom to explore and offer unscripted fighting, a first for the series.

In addition, players who pre-order the game will have immediate access to each episode as they are released. Console players will receive The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series Collection for free with pre-orders, which includes all 19 episodes from the previous games.
