The Last Of Us Part II Remastered Is Getting A New Chronological Mode

Naughty Dog, known for their iconic The Last of Us franchise, just made quite the surprising announcement for a brand new The Last of Us Part II Remastered update coming today. The new patch will be available for both PlayStation 5 and PC players, and it’s adding a new chronological gameplay mode. The story was originally told non-linearly, and intentionally so to deliver a more dramatic experience. Now though, players can select chronological mode to experience the events of The Last of Us Part II Remastered in the order in which they occured in-universe.

According to the developers on the official blog, fellow Sony studio Nixxes helped to make this new mode possible, saying it was “no small feat” to put together. They still recommend that players experience The Last of Us Part II in the original, non-linear order, but now the option is there for those that want to experience the story as it happens. New trophies are also being added for those that to opt to experience the chronological mode, giving you a perfect excuse to go in for a replay!
