Obsidian Entertainment has announced a remastered version of its 2019 space RPG, The Outer Worlds. This updated and enhanced version brings the sprawling solar system of Halcyon to new-generation consoles with the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. In addition, the Fallout: New Vegas developers improve the game with better visuals, additional animations, and more.
The Spacer’s Choices Edition will include both game’s DLCs, Murder on Eridanos and Peril on Gorgon. If players already have The Outer Worlds and its two DLCs on a last-gen console, they can upgrade it to the newest version for a reduced price of $9.99. If not, the game will set you back a traditional game cost of $60.
The description of the video lists more of the key features that The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition has to offer. These include better performance, higher resolution environments and an increased level cap, to build your characters in more ways than before. As seen in the trailer above, the visual overhauls in the Spacer’s Choice Edition seem to be pretty significant, with lighting and effects looking considerably better in the new upgraded version.
For those perhaps unfamiliar, The Outer Worlds is a space RPG set in the solar system and corporate colony of Haylcon. Players can customize their character, on their quest to to take down corrupted corporations. The gameplay is very similar to the Fallout series, which focuses on player choices, building relationships with companions, and of course, many gun fights.
The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition will be out on March 7 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Will you be paying for the upgrade? Will you be buying into the game for the first time?
