The Witcher 3 Next-Gen Update Releases In December

We knew that the next-gen update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was coming at some point this winter but now we have a release date. As confirmed by the official CD Projekt site, the next-gen update will release on Dec. 14th, and will be available for free on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. A physical release will also follow at some point in future.

The free update will bring ray tracing to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, as well as enhanced loading times, visual and technical improvements and some integrated mods. As well as this, new content will be added from The Witcher Netflix series. This won’t be the first time CD Projekt Red has added Netflix tie-in content to their games, after Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.6 included items from the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Netflix anime series.

There’s no next-gen gameplay yet, but a REDstreams event will be airing on CD Projekt Red’s Twitch account next week to show off these new versions. We’re very much looking forward to seeing the improved visuals of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, a game already acclaimed by both critics and audiences alike.
