Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty DLC Announced, Coming 2023

The first expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 has been announced in a Night City Wire special. The expansion is titled Phantom Liberty, and features a new cast of characters in a new location inside Night City. The protagonist V will be encountering them for the first time in the DLC, with Hollywood legend Keanu Reaves confirmed to be returning as Johnny Silverhand.

Details remain sparse but a teaser trailer has been released – the description of which confirms the expansion to be a “spy-thriller”. V is heard reciting an oath, pledging their allegiance to the New United States of America. Bodies are seen lying dead, as buildings burn and a ship falls from the sky. You can watch the trailer below.

Also announced was Patch 1.6, known as the Edgerunners update, which releases today. The update adds new items inspired by the upcoming anime of the same name, as well as a clothing transmog system, cross-platform progression, playable arcade cabinets featuring the game Roach Race, as well as new photo mode additions.

We’re particularly excited for the clothing transmog, which allows the player to have the stats of one item whilst presenting as another. Sometimes the best armor pieces have great stats but their aesthetics are questionable.
