Two New Sonic Games Announced at SDCC

Fans of Sonic were in for a huge announcement last Saturday during San Diego Comic Con when Sega announced not one, but two new Sonic the Hedgehog titles which coincided with the blue blurs 25th anniversary.

The first game announced is titled Sonic Mania and takes inspiration from his classic Genesis games.  Mania will feature reimagined levels from the Genesis and Sega CD games and feature the same 16-bit style graphics as those classic games.

“Sonic Mania was born out of our fans’ love of the classic Sonic 2D platform games,” said Iizuka. “This type of collaboration is a first for Sega and we hope everyone will be both surprised and delighted by this title. Sonic Mania has been a passion project for the entire team and we look forward to sharing more details about it later this year.”
