Ubisoft Teases Futuristic Battle Royale Hyper Scape

Rumors of an upcoming battle royale game from developer Ubisoft only began to surface a few days ago — but the company has already given fans plenty to speculate about. On Twitter, industry insider Rod “Slasher” Breslau revealed that the game, titled Hyper Scape, was reportedly a “multiplayer fast-paced FPS Battle Royale” and that Ubisoft Montreal was developing it. He also indicated that the game’s setting would be in a futuristic virtual world and that the title would be launched for both PC and console.

Breslau further stated that the game would soon begin closed beta, with several streamers and YouTubers invited to participate. He cited July 12 as either a possible full release date for Hyper Scape or the beginning of an open beta period.

Finally, he indicated that the game would feature significant Twitch integration, with in-game Twitch chat able to provide players with bonuses and trigger events. Hyper Scape was reportedly developed in conjunction with Twitch to make Twitch a significant part of the Hyper Scape play experience.

Ubisoft has also released a website for Hyper Scape, which went live on June 29. The site is portrayed as the home page of Prisma Dimensions. This in-universe company was responsible for creating the virtual city of Neo Arcadia, where actual gameplay takes place. The homepage features a message from Prisma Dimensions’ CEO, Dr. Ivy Tan, as well as a company mission statement and a brief advertisement for Hyper Scape.

Players interested in Hyper Scape can use this official Web site to sign up for more news about the game and its upcoming beta. Gamers can create a new account or sign in using an existing Facebook, Sony, Microsoft, or Twitch account. Additionally, the site indicates that more news will be revealed on July 2.
