WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers – Benediction Guide

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers features an interesting variety of combat mechanics that can enhance your prowess in combat. Benediction is one such mechanic that allows you to imbue your weapon with powerful passive bonuses. However, figuring out how Benediction works can be a challenge, which is why this guide will help you understand the process.

Once you’ve mastered how to utilize Benediction, you’ll be able to take on more challenging enemies and bosses with ease. Unlike Temeperance which we’ve also written a guide on, Benediction is always active, and it will continue to provide your weapon with passive bonuses until you remove the Benediction stones from it.

How Does Benediction Work?

You can find the Benediction menu at a shrine.
You can find the Benediction menu at a shrine.

Head over to any shrine and open the Benediction menu. From there, you’ll have to equip a stone of each of the three categories. The three categories are: Oath, Memory, and Wisdom. Each Benediction stone that you encounter in the game will fall into one of these three categories.

You may be wondering how to get these Benediction stones. For that, you’ll have to explore a lot. You can find Benediction stones all over the world, often guarded by elite enemies. After defeating an elite enemy, look around for a small chest. These small chests will always include a Benediction stone. Furthermore, you can also purchase these stones from the merchants after delivering boss items to them and increasing their stock variety.

How To Use Benediction?

Each Benediction stone provides a different passive effect.

Benediction stones can only be equipped on one weapon at a time, and each stone provides a different type of passive bonus. Some of these stones also have additional bonuses, which can be unlocked after equipping three of the stones that provide these additional bonuses. You can spot these stones that provide additional bonuses by a small icon on them. Each type of special bonus has a unique icon, which makes it easy to tell them apart.

However, most of the stones that you encounter won’t feature these special bonuses, and you’ll have to make do with the regular passive bonuses that they provide. Benediction is applied to each weapon separately, so if you’re carrying around two weapons, you’ll have to apply different Benediction stones on each of these weapons, and the passive bonuses that they provide will not be shared between the two.

You can check any active Benediction effects from the Weapon menu.

Benediction gives you an extra edge in battle. However, some of these Benediction stones also have negative buffs. For example, a stone may increase your damage output, but it may also increase any incoming damage, so it’s important to read what each stone does before equipping it. While you’ll have to head over to a shrine to change or remove your Benediction stones, you can check what effects they provide anytime by selecting the Weapons tab from the main menu.
