A remake of the 2012 Monolith Soft Wii game, Xenoblade Chronicles was announced during the latest Nintendo Direct. This remake will be called Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition and will release for the Nintendo Switch. Previously, the game had only been ported to the New Nintendo 3DS when re-released. This time, the game’s graphics have been updated, and even seems to feature an unused area from the original game. Currently, it is unknown whether there will be any other additions, such as playable characters or story elements.
Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition is slated for release in 2020.
