Activision has revealed details in a blog post to the new zombie mode from the forthcoming Black Ops Cold War, which will include “new ways to progress, classic fan-favorite Perks, and an arsenal of Cold War weaponry that will help survivors dominate the legions of undead.”
Designed as a four-person co-op mode, it been built to take “veterans and newcomers alike on a bold and terrifying journey” while the more experienced players will “likely find something familiar with this new chapter,” according to Activision’s blog post.
In what has been described as “more than a nod to “Nacht der Untoten”, the iconic zombies’ map first unveiled in Call Of Duty: World At War, the latest map, “Die Maschine”, which translates as “the machine”, is set within the 1980s, with connections going back “even further into the past.”
A CIA-backed international response team code-named Requiem explores a defunct, aging World War II bunker, sent to investigate what remains. If successful, there is an opportunity to discover “a cache of decades-old secrets that upend the global order.”
Naturally, it’d never be that simple. Then another group arrives, code-named Omega, a Soviet-led division with similar intentions to uncover the truths of the bunkers. There’s a contact, going by the name of Sam, who possesses intel discovered from within the KGB, and while trying to determine your friends from your foes, this zombies mode “will start to unfold in mysterious and unexpected ways…”
Updates made to Zombies in Black Ops Cold War include Cross-play and Cross-Gen, Battle Pass Progression and load-outs, weapon rarity, field upgrades, new equipment, perks, and an exfil option.
A new battle pass trailer for Modern Warfare & Warzone Season 6 from Activision promises “an array of horror themed content across a fresh 100 tiers.”
The new battle pass system includes everything from war tracks, weapons, blueprints, and operator skins. Farah is available once the battle pass is unlocked, with Nikolai available from Tier 100.
