The wait for the next Call Of Duty game goes on. In a new development to the story, more details are beginning to emerge from the Treyarch/Raven collaboration, this time, in the form of a post-it note.
If you take a look at the PawnTakesPawn.com/tv website, you’ll find a post-it note stuck to the corner edge of a television. The post-it note reads “/tangledweb”. This then leads you to PawnTakesPawn.com/tangledweb. Already, it feels like I’m taking on a puzzle from Uncharted 3.
This page provides a cryptic message on a piece of paper. In one line, the message implies that the reader has “found the first piece of many.” It adds: “Relish the journey. It’s all part of the game.”
This then would suggest Activision is only warming up with the teasers ahead of the eventual release date for the next Call Of Duty title. The message concludes with a familiar phrase, warning players to “Know Your History”
This very same sentence has been seen before, as Warzone players recently found their screens interrupted, mid-game by static, and the words “Know Your History” flickering on screen.
The meaning behind this message remains unknown, but a prevailing theory is that it shares a connection in some way to the Cold War/Black Ops theme for the next game. These ominous messages are certainly catching people off-guard, and it would be surprising if they weren’t hinting towards the next Call Of Duty.
According to Treyarch Studios and Raven Software, Call Of Duty 2020 will be released later this year. Treyarch was the first to confirm the news on Twitter.
As reported by Charlie Intel, the statement reads: “Activision will continue to build on its direct digital relationship with this expanded community as it delivers the next premium installment for Call of Duty, which comes from the wholly owned Call of Duty studios Treyarch and Raven Software.”
