Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Features in Tourism Ireland Campaign

Tourism Ireland has officially teamed up with Ubisoft to use Assassin’s Creed Valhalla in a promotional campaign, combining footage of locations featured in the game’s 9th-century Ireland “Wrath of the Druids” expansion with clips of them as they are now in real life. Featuring Dublin, Benbulben, the Giant’s Causway, and the Hill of Tara, it’s a pretty neat little comparison snippet and is likely to spark at least a few gaming-inspired pilgrimages to see the sights as intended!

In a press release regarding the campaign put out by Tourism Ireland today, it was also revealed that Tourism Ireland will be working with popular gaming content creators across Great Britain, Germany, France, Spain, and the Nordic countries who have a strong Twitch following to further showcase the Irish locations featured in the Wrath of the Druids expansion.

Central Marketing Director for Tourism Ireland, Mark Henry, commented: ““Ubisoft has done an incredible job in bringing aspects of Celtic Ireland to life in amazing detail. Tourism Ireland’s campaign is a fun and innovative way to bring the island of Ireland to the attention of a new audience of gamers. We want to spike players’ curiosity about the featured locations and inspire them to come and explore them in the real world.”

There have been some truly bizarre advertising campaigns that use gaming collaborations, but this one is still a bit of a surprise and a clever move that could definitely inspire some similar campaigns in the future.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
