Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Confirmed With Narrative Trailer

At last, following months of speculations, whispers, and rumors, Activision has revealed a trailer for the next Call Of Duty title: Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. The trailer, titled ‘Know Your History,’ depicts the geopolitical landscape behind Black Ops Cold War’s narrative. With this in mind, the trailer does not reveal any gameplay footage or cinematic. A worldwide reveal, however, is promised for August 26, (next Wednesday).

In the trailer, KGB defector Yuri Bezmenov warns of a spy by the codename of Perseus, whose infiltrated Western Intelligence to subvert the U.S in a bid to win the Arms Race. He details a process called Active Measures that the spy would undertake. These are completed in four stages: Demoralisation, destabilization, crisis, and normalization.

Regarding the new title, Activision President Rob Kostich recently said that “fans are going to absolutely love it.” He described the title as looking “incredible right now, and internally, people are having a ton of fun playing across its campaign mode as well as the online modes that the developers are very well known for.”

“Activision will continue to build on its direct digital relationship with this expanded community as it delivers the next premium installment for Call of Duty, which comes from the wholly-owned Call of Duty studios Treyarch and Raven Software.”

Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is due for release sometime at the end of the year. As for consoles, it’s uncertain if Cold War will serve to bow out the franchise from the PS4 and Xbox One or become a cross-gen release with PS5 and Xbox Series X. On the subject of a release date, shoutcaster Chris Puckett recently appeared to suggest that Treyarch would release Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War by November 2020.
