Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare And Warzone Get New Patch And Playlist Update

Since the launch of the Season 4 Reloaded update to Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone, Infinity Ward has released a new playlist update and additional patch, to fix some gameplay and balancing issues players had been experiencing.

The patch is a small one, but fixes two key problems. The first of the issues rectified by the developers includes a fix for the realism moshpit playlist, which did not rotate modes as expected.  The second amends the CDL playlist which also had not been functioning correctly. The playlist update, released across all platforms, has removed the Shoot the Ship playlist, as well as separating Shipment (5v5) and Shoot House (8v8), into two individual playlists.

Recently, Season 4 Reloaded’s update introduced a limited time only 200-player Warzone mode. The update further nerfed the Grau weapon, which many felt was seriously overpowered. Elsewhere, the new Spotter Scope has been nerfed too, as it had been helping players move without an alarming glint from the scope revealing their location on a map.

Infinity Ward further announced that starting today, they’d been kicking off a double XP weekend in Modern Warfare and Warzone at 10 AM PT. The double XP applies to standard XP, as well as weapon and Battle Pass XPs.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare has topped the NPD charts as the best-selling game of May 2020. It follows two months of being beaten to the top spot by Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and the re-imagined Final Fantasy VII Remake. NPD Group’s Mat Piscatella revealed the news in a Twitter post.

Behind Modern Warfare came Grand Theft Auto V, (a game still selling copies a staggering seven years since its release), Animal Crossing: New HorizonsNBA 2K20, and Mortal Kombat 11. Other titles within the top ten include Red Dead Redemption 2, Minecraft, and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
