Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare II: Early Campaign Play Details

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II’s campaign will launch a week earlier – provided players pre-order the game digitally. With the sequel to the 2019 reboot scheduled to launch on October 28 – players will be able to play the game from October 20, according to an official Call of Duty blog post

Alongside early access to the campaign, which will feature the return of Task Force 141 – players will receive a “host of other previously announced rewards” and give players “a week to complete the incredible multimission, single-player, globe-trotting operation before the full game” before the game’s official release date.

Featuring the return of Price, Garrick, Soap, and Ghost – they’ll be joined by new characters for the sequel – Commander Philip Graves and Mexican Special Forces Colonel Alejandro Vargas. Modern Warfare II pits Task Force 141 against their “greatest threat yet,” which has been described as “a newly aligned menace with deep, yet unknown connections.”

Fans of the long-running series are advised to keep September 15 open in their calendars, following the recent announcement of Call of Duty: Next, described as “an era-defining franchise event,” in which the Modern Warfare II developers will “pull back the curtain on aspects of developing the game, giving you unprecedented behind-the-scenes access to the innovations coming to the game.”

Infinity Ward unveiled the first gameplay for Modern Warfare II during June’s Summer Game Fest 2022 Livestream. Johanna Faries, GM at Call Of Duty, described the launch of the sequel as a “transformational moment for the entire franchise.”

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare II will launch across all major platforms, including the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, and PC via Battle.net and Steam. The next iteration of the shooter series will also be the last until 2024.
