Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time Leak Hints Switch Release

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time could be set to make its way onto Nintendo Switch. This is according to twitter user SunwerPrower, who picked up on a small detail within the source code page of the Crash Bandicoot 4 game page.

The post below, initially picked up by GameRant, translated into English, reads: “Inside the Crash Bandicoot 4 page, you will find a small remnant of Switch. More specifically, it is a script that includes the “Nintendo Switch” element. This component is the one who feeds the platform options menu. You can check it yourself.”

So far, the game has only officially been announced for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and is set to release October 2.

During Sony’s State of Play last week, new details were confirmed for Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time. Activision’s latest title will boast new play styles, platforming techniques, and a brand new story. It’s About Time will also allow fans to play as four iconic characters: Crash, Coco, Cortex, and Dingodile.

This new title is described by Activision in an official blog post as “an epic and absurd platforming adventure completely built from the ground up, and a true successor to the original trilogy.”

It’s About Time, a direct sequel to the original trilogy will include an updated art style, new gameplay mechanics, as well as “innovative abilities.” What this means is the player will be able to make the switch between modern and retro game modes.

Also new to the game will be the Quantum Masks. These are four guardians of space and time that provide the characters with “the power to bend the rules of reality and conquer dangerous obstacles in exciting new ways.”

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time will be the first new entry to the series in over ten years, following the remakes Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy, and Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled in 2017 and 2019 respectively.
