Crystal Dynamics Officially Takes Over Tomb Raider And More From Square Enix

Embracer Group recently acquired Crystal Dynamics and others from Square Enix Holdings, a deal which gave them the rights to many iconic franchises from gaming history. Today, Crystal Dynamics has officially confirmed it has been given control of several game franchises from Square Enix, including Tomb Raider and Legacy of Kain.

As stated in a new short blog post, this news means that Crystal Dynamics now owns these franchises, the past games it developed with them, as well as the personal data collected in them. Embracer Group is still the holding group behind its subsidiaries, but Crystal Dynamics is in complete control of its past and future. This will be exciting news for fans of the recent Tomb Raider trilogy, as well as those wishing to see more from Legacy of Kain.
