Cyberpunk 2077 Night City Wire Showcase Delayed To June 25

An upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 live stream, Night City Wire, has been delayed until June 25. According to Cyberpunk 2077’s Twitter account, a statement reads: “We decided to move Night City Wire to June 25.”

They added: “We still look forward to sharing new information about CP’77, but more important discussions are happening right now, and we want them to be heard.”

Initially, the live stream was set to go ahead on June 11. The first announcement of Night City Wire was unveiled via Twitter on May 5.

In light of recent events concerning the killing of George Floyd, and protests against police violence, developer CD Projekt Red declared: “We wholeheartedly stand against racism, intolerance, and violence. Black Lives Matter.”

Infinity Ward and Activision, those behind Modern Warfare and Warzone, and EA, (NFL Madden 21), further declared that upcoming content would be delayed in light of the protests.

Furthermore, Sony delayed their upcoming Playstation 5 event yesterday.

Cyberpunk 2077 is slated for release on September 17, available on Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC. CD Projekt’s long-awaited game had been initially scheduled for April before a delay, due to a need for more testing.

Recently, according to the head of Projekt RED, Adam Badowski, Cyberpunk 2077, has been rated by a majority of rating boards. Despite a chaotic beginning to 2020, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is understood the process of rating Cyberpunk 2077 only took five weeks.

Badowski said: “While we wait for the game to get rated, we work on polishing technical aspects and playtesting it. Game is looking better and better with each passing day!”

For players who purchase an Xbox Series X, they’ll receive a free upgrade. This’ll allow them to play Cyberpunk 2077 on the next-gen console.

However, no announcement has been made for an upgrade to the Playstation 5.
