Dontnod’s Vampyr Coming to the Nintendo Switch

Publisher Focus Home Interactive has recently released their latest financial report, wherein they have revealed a surprising game coming to the Nintendo Switch. Dontnod’s Vampyr, a game which Focus Home Interactive published for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC earlier this year will be making its way to the Switch.

In the financial report, the company stated:

In Q3, the Group will continue to maximize the potential of the Vampyr licence… After the game’s impressive success on PC, Xbox One, and PS4, it will be Nintendo Switch’s turn to welcome the Dontnod title to reach an even wider audience.

While no actual release date is set in stone, the report does state a Q3 release date. “Q3” suggests a release before the end of 2018, and with only two months left of the year we should get our first look at Vampyr for the Switch sooner rather than later.

Vampyr is set at the end of the Great War in 1918, wherein you play as a doctor who awakens as a vampire and has a thirst for his patients. The game tackles moral struggles as you face the challenges of going with or against your vampiric nature.

Dontnod is best known for their work on the Life is Strange franchise which, akin to the rest of their gaming catalogue, has yet to come to Nintendo’s platform.

Are you surprised Dontnod is bringing Vampyr to the Switch? Could this signal Switch ports of other games from the developer’s library? Let us know in the comments below!
