Bandai Namco's semi open-world action RPG, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot released on January 17, 2020, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It allows players to experience the familiar adventures of protagonist Goku — also chronicled in the world-famous anime and manga Dragon Ball Z - like they never have before.

Recently, Namco announced the first DLC for the game, entitled A New Power Awakens Part 1. Those who have already purchased the Ultimate Edition of the game will automatically receive the DLC, while others can purchase it as part of the Season Pass alongside the upcoming A New Power Awakens Part 2.

The first part of A New Power Awakens sees Goku encountering familiar faces from the Dragon Ball Super installment of the franchise. He will train under the mysterious Whis in order to become strong enough to face down Beerus, the God of Destruction, a popular antagonist previously featured in both the manga and anime.

Completing the DLC's story will allow Goku to unlock the Super Saiyan God form, which gives him red hair and enhanced speed. On its release, Super Saiyan God form will be the most powerful Super Saiyan transformation available in the game. Namco has confirmed that fellow major character Vegeta will also be able to unlock and access this form.

Once installed, A New Power Awakens can be started at any time, even if you have not yet completed the game's main storyline. Once unlocked, Super Saiyan God form will be available to use in the main story as well.

Alongside the DLC, a Music Compilation will also be released in Spring 2020. It will feature a number of new tracks from the anime including popular titles such as Dragon Soul and We Gotta Power.

No information has currently been released regarding A New Power Awakens Part 2, but fans currently theorize that it will continue Goku's Super adventures, and potentially release yet another Super Saiyan form.
