F1 2020 has taken the top spot in the UK physical retail charts, stealing the crown from The Last Of Us Part II, which reigned at the top for three weeks. Naughty Dog’s sequel has dropped to number 3, behind Animal Crossing: New Horizons in second place.
In losing two places, The Last Of Us Part II further dropped in sales by 48% week-on-week. Meanwhile, Marvel’s Iron Man VR dropped from number 2 to number 9, recording a 75% decline in sales, week-on-week. As listed below, from the week ending July 11, 2020, the UK Sales Charts read as follows:
- F1 2020
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons
- The Last of Us: Part II
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Minecraft
- Grand Theft Auto V
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
- Luigi’s Mansion 3
- Marvel’s Iron Man VR
- Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy
Crash Bandicoot N’Sane Trilogy broke into the top ten once more, jumping a total of eight places from the previous week, around the same time that Crash Bandicoot It’s About Time was announced.
In contrast, FIFA 20 fell from eighth position to 36th. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Luigi’s Mansion 3 take fourth and eighth places respectively.
While taking seventh place, Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare also topped the NPD charts as the best-selling game of May 2020. It followed two months of being beaten to the top spot by Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and the re-imagined Final Fantasy VII Remake.
For the whole of May, spending was tracked across video game hardware and software, accessories, as well as game cards. All in all, it totaled an eye-watering $922 million.
Other titles within the top ten include Red Dead Redemption 2, Minecraft, and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Despite losing the number one spot, The Last Of Us Part II was the most downloaded game via the PS Store for the whole of June, across all regions, and was also voted as the best game of the month by players.
