Fire Emblem Engage Guide: Donations And Donation Rewards

Fire Emblem Engage, the latest entry in Nintendo’s series of tactical strategy games, offers lots of things for players to do between battles. When not fighting the enemy, players and their recruited units can hang out on a floating island called the Somniel, which is full of mini-games and other activities. Players can fish, ride wyverns, view Support conversations between characters, bond with adorable mascot Sommie, create Bond Rings in the Ring Chamber, and much, much more. One of the many locations available to visit in the Somniel is the Donation Board, where players can donate money to the game’s four countries in exchange for valuable rewards.

Donating to countries is carried out by paying Gold and gradually increasing each country’s Donation Level. Each Donation Level comes with valuable rewards such as food items, clothing, metal ingots, and more. Increasing a country’s Donation Level also increases the chance that rare enemies will show up during Skirmishes and boosts the rewards you receive for completing Skirmishes on that country’s maps. This guide will cover how to use the Donation Board, how much gold each Donation Level requires, and what rewards are available for donating to each of the game’s four countries.

How to Use the Donation Board

Donate1

The Donation Board is located in the Café area of the Somniel, hanging on the back wall near the door to the Ring Chamber. The Donation Board has multiple functions, as it is also used to turn in Achievements and check which Achievements you have and have not completed.

There are four countries that can be Donated to: Firene, Brodia, Elusia, and Solm. Firene is available after completing Chapter 4 of the game’s story. Brodia becomes available after completing Chapter 8, Elusia after completing Chapter 11, and Solm after completing Chapter 12.

To donate to a country, simply click on it on the Donation Board and select the amount you would like to donate. You can donate 100 gold, 1000 gold, or 10,000 gold at a time. Alternately, you can choose to immediately donate as much gold as is needed to reach the next Donation Level. Of course, you cannot donate more gold than you currently have.

The Donation Board will always display what Donation Level each country is at and how much gold remains for each country to reach the next level. You can also check the Board for reminders of what rewards you will receive from each country upon reaching the next level of Donation.

How Much Gold Do You Need to Donate?

Donate3

There are five levels of Donation for each of the four available countries. The costs for reaching each Donation Level are as follows:

Level 1 – Automatic upon the country being unlocked

Level 2 – 5,000 Gold

Level 3 – 10,000 Gold

Level 4 – 25,000 Gold

Level 5 – 50,000 Gold

In total, it costs 90,000 gold to raise a single country’s Donation Level to Level 5, and 360,000 gold to raise all four countries’ Donation Levels to Level 5. You can earn gold in Fire Emblem Engage by completing main story battles, Paralogues, and Skirmishes. Additionally, you can also sell items collected on the battlefield to the Weapon Store or Item Store in the Somniel. At certain points in the story, allied countries will also give you set amounts of gold to use as war funds, which you can of course put towards the Donation Board.

However, keep in mind that it can be difficult to earn a large amount of gold in Fire Emblem Engage, and leveling up all four countries in a single playthrough will require a lot of grinding and Skirmish completion. Plus, you need to save some gold for buying healing staves, healing potions, and other limited use items! You may want to consider prioritizing the countries that you feel give the best rewards or the countries whose maps you enjoy battling on the most when deciding where to donate your gold. However, it is definitely possible to level up all four countries if you put your mind to it and are willing to take the time and effort.

Donation Rewards

Donate2

Each time you raise a country’s Donation Level, you will receive rewards. All four countries provide Bond Fragments upon leveling up. Bond Fragments are used to create and meld Bond Rings in the Ring Chamber as well as train with Emblems in the Arena, so they are an extremely useful currency that you will need a large amount of throughout Fire Emblem Engage. Bond Fragment rewards for increasing Donation Levels are as follows:

Level 2 – 500 Bond Fragments

Level 3 – 1,000 Bond Fragments

Level 4 – 2,000 Bond Fragments

Level 5 – 3,000 Bond Fragments

In total, you will receive 6,500 Bond Fragments for raising a country’s Donation to max level and 26,000 Bond Fragments for reaching the maximum Donation Level with all four countries.

In addition to the Bond Fragments, you will receive rewards associated with each country such as local clothing and food items. Each time you increase a country’s Donation Level, you will also increase the types and amounts of rewards you receive for completing battles on that country’s maps. You will also increase your chance of spawning Skirmishes featuring Gold Corrupted and Silver Corrupted, rare monsters that provide additional gold and Experience Points upon being defeated. (Silver Corrupted award additional Experience Points and Skill Points to whichever of your units deals the final blow, while Gold Corrupted tend to reward you with between 1,000 and 2,000 Gold once they are successfully defeated.)

You will also increase the amount of Bond Fragments, Ingots, and foods associated with that country you receive each time you battle on one of those country’s maps. Finally, you will be able to adopt animals exclusive to that country when you encounter them on Battle Maps and bring them back to the Somniel to receive various rewards from them.

Here is a brief overview of the benefits each country provides for increasing its Donation level:

Firene: High Gold Corrupted rate. High Bond Fragment reward increase. Increase in spawns of Oranges, Milk, Eggs, Tomato, Potato, Wheat Flour, Berries, Nuts, and Rare Fruit.
