The development of the console versions of Gone Home have been on hiatus for sometime now ever since publisher Midnight City ran into a bit of financial trouble. Luckily, all these problems seem to have passed and development resumed as Gone Home developer Fullbright announced a release date for the Playstation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game. Gone Home has been revealed for a January 12th release date on both platforms so not far off now.

The original PC version of the game ran on the Unity 4 engine, though for the Playstation 4 and Xbox One version the game has been revealed to be running on the Unity 5 engine, and is being developed fully in house. Gone Home on consoles will also feature 90 minutes of behind-the-scenes developer commentary.
