Just like with most other Call of Duty releases, the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III will have an open beta period for potential players to hop on and try the game out for themselves. It’s not just as simple as having one open beta weekend however, as different platforms receive access to the beta at different times, as well as those who pre-ordered the game compared to those looking to try before they buy. Let’s break it all down now.
The first beta available will be on Oct. 6 – 7, and will be available only on PlayStation, and only to those PS4 or PS5 users who have preordered the game. This is known as the ‘PlayStation Early Access’ period. Next comes the Oct. 8 – 10 beta, which will be an open beta available to anybody for free on a PS4 or PS5. This weekend is known as the PlayStation Exclusive ‘Weekend One’.
The second beta period begins on Oct. 12 – 13, in which those who preordered the game on Xbox or PC will receive their early access beta. Note that this two-day period will also once again be a PlayStation open beta, so anyone on PlayStation can play on those two days even without preordering the game. This is followed by the final open beta, available for free to all gamers on any platform between Oct. 14 – 16. All these days add up to a maximum total of ten beta days in October for PlayStation fans who preorder Modern Warfare III.
