Horizon Zero Dawn has been officially delayed to 2017

Concerns rose a few weeks ago when a rumor surfaced suggesting that Horizon Zero Dawn would be seeing a delay pushing it back to 2017, this was hard hitting news that many hoped was just a lie however developer Guerrilla Games has confirmed the delay issuing a new release date.

Hermen Hulst, managing director at Guerrilla Games, posted on the PlayStation Blog that Horizon Zero Dawn would now launch in North America on February 28, 2017, for PlayStation 4. A release date for Europe has been confirmed to follow on the 1st of March, with those in the UK waiting until March 3rd for their version of the game. In his post on the Playstation Blog Hulst notes:

“It wasn’t an easy choice to make [delaying Horizon Zero Dawn]; we know many of you have been anxious to play the game since we first announced it.”

“However, we also want to ensure that Horizon Zero Dawn lives up to the visuals and gameplay quality that our games are known for. The new date affords us the extra time required to deliver fully on our ambitious vision for Horizon Zero Dawn.”

Following up on his comments Hulst has shared that despite the games delay they will continue to share more “cool details and videos” from Horizon Zero Dawn.

Sad news indeed, however they don’t compensate us by giving us a good three minute long trailer that places the focus on Aloy our leading lady in this production. You can watch the trailer below:
