Leaked footage from The Last Of Us, courtesy of dbaxter1304 on Reddit, reveals the show’s two lead stars joined by two additional characters familiar to the source material. Pedro Pascal (Joel), and Bella Ramsey (Ellie), can be seen with Henry and Sam, two survivors from the Pittsburgh section of the game, darting across a street before disappearing into a building.

It’s evident from the amount of activity and a moving car around the actors that this sequence is a rehearsal. It’s even possible that the actors playing Henry and Sam are merely stand-ins as a means to protect the identities of those cast in the roles. A more detailed shot posted to Instagram of the four highlights Joel and Ellie’s costumes and Henry and Sam.

Joel and Ellie are run off the road by bandits in Pittsburgh and later team up with Henry and Sam to escape the city and evade the bandits. After escaping the city, they are hounded by the same group before Sam becomes infected.

In supporting roles, Merle Dandridge will be returning as Marlene (having lent her voice in the game), as well as Anna Torv (Tess), Nico Parker (Sarah), Gabriel Luna (Tommy), Nick Offerman (Bill), and most recently, Euphoria’s Storm Reid as Riley.

The Last of Us TV series charts a brutal journey across what remains of the US as Joel smuggles an immune 14-year old Ellie to the Fireflies to create a vaccine for the Cordyceps virus. The Last Of Us is a collaboration between Sony Pictures Television, PlayStation Productions, Word Games, The Mighty Mint, and Naughty Dog.

Last year, Craig Mazin revealed his fears of “anger and judgments” from fans on adapting The Last Of Us for TV. “The video game community is not shy. They love and hate in equal parts and with equal abandon. The love part is the wonderful part.” Mazin said.
