Mighty No.9 delayed to the first quarter of 2016

Rumors have been circulating around the internet for the last few days suggesting that Comcepts spiritual successor to Mega Man, Mighty No.9 had been delayed to 2016. Previous release dates for the game had it releasing in the next month but now after the rumors circulated Comcept has provided an official announcement about the games delay. Comcept first released an announcement to the backers forum to announce the delay of the game and the reason for the push back to the first quarter of 2016, with the big push for the decision being bugs that still exist in the game. The bugs for the game currently exist in the online components and as the staff have put it, they don’t wish to deliver a game that has issues and even if it only exists in the online side, it still would ruin the experience. The staff at Comcept had this to say:

Of course, it is important to explain why exactly the game is being delayed. As we have communicated in the updates to our backers, all of the core content for the game is developed and in a complete state. However, there are still bugs and issues pertaining to the online features that are included in the game. These bugs and issues have a direct affect on enjoyment of the game, so a decision was made to work these issues out before release. Currently, comcept and their partners are working at full capacity to resolve these issues and fix any remaining bugs.

Delay’s are disappointing but for good reason, it is just unfortunate that this delay pushes the game so far out of reach, with a release that could be as far as the end of March. For now we will just have to wait and see for more information.
