The second gigantic update for Monster Hunter Wilds has been released, as the creatively named ‘Title Update 2’ just dropped on all available platforms. The new content drop comes with new monsters to fight, new difficulty options, along with new customization options for players and the groundwork set for the next Festival of Accord. It’s been a while since the last major update in April, so let’s dive into it!
Arguably the star of the show for Monster Hunter Wilds‘ Title Update 2 is the mighty Lagiacrus, a fearsome serpent-like Leviathan that all but guarantees a difficult fight for most hunters. In case that wasn’t hard enough though, a Tempered Lagiacrus fight is also available after defeating the tamer version. The aerial beast Seregios has also been added as a regular extra mission and with a Tempered version too. If you’re looking for even more difficulty, Uth Duna is getting an Arch-tempered form in a future event quest and tempered monsters can now appear in monster herds.
Player options are expanding when it comes to in-game facilities, as handlers can be switched between Alma and Erik once Legiacrus has been defeated. Item boxes get a renewed focus, as more are now available in each base camp, the Grand Hub and they can be used at Pop-up Camps too. Player customization is expanding as well, with new equipment, skills, stickers, gestures and poses, Seikret and Palico customization options and more. You can show off your new style and all the rewards you’ve earned from hunting at the updated Grand Hub, with a new Festival of Accord taking place between July 23 – August 6 to celebrate the summer.
PC performance has allegedly been improved too, but player responses online seem to suggest a mixed reception to the changes. Whilst Capcom claim the amount of VRAM used has been reduced with a change to shader compilation, it seems many PC users are still experiencing issues.
