New Look At Ciri In The Witcher 4 With Dev’s Behind-The-Scenes Video

It’s only been a month since we had our first look at The Witcher 4, and to our surprise we’re already seeing more! A behind-the-scenes video has been released over on the official The Witcher YouTube channel, and it’s a fascinating watch to see exactly how the remarkable reveal trailer came to life. What’s perhaps even more exciting, and being mostly overlooked right now, is that we get a new look at Ciri.

Throughout the video we get some clear shots of the 3D models used in the trailer, but taken out of their extremely dark and dingy context that the grim reveal trailer showcased. As such, we get a much clearer look at the Ciri model being used in The Witcher 4, and she looks excellent! We already saw how cool she is in the reveal trailer, but starting at 5:42 in the video below we get a gradual 3D showcase of her model, armor, sword, and her face all in clear lighting. As art director Karol Klonowski explains, the first look in the reveal trailer is intentionally “mysterious” and “darker” for the sake of cinematic contrast with the ill-fated Mioni.

The Witcher 4 will carry on the epic saga of The Witcher franchise with a new protagonist, as the iconic Ciri takes up the leading role in an adventure of her own. Don’t worry though Geralt fans, he will still be appearing in the The Witcher 4 too! It’s great to see how such a grand reveal trailer was made, and a reassuring sign of CD Projekt Red’s earlier comments that they’re going to try harder to deliver for fans after Cyberpunk 2077‘s launch.
