During an episode of Giant Bomb’s Game Mess Mornings, gaming journalist Jeff Grubb gave some potential insight into the upcoming Wolverine game. Grubb claims that Insomniac’s action game will be rated M, and takes place before the titular Wolverine joins the X-Men. In addition, the game will be ‘semi’ open-world and is currently in ‘very’ early development. In terms of the release date, Grubb suggests the earliest it will be ready is late 2024, with the team at Insomniac thinking 2025 is more likely.
“I heard as early as Fall 2024. This is Insomniac, and they are putting out Spider-Man 2 later this fall. Then follow it up with Wolverine in Fall 2024? I also heard they [Insomniac] internally are very much talking about 2025.” – Jeff Grubb, Game Mess Mornings
