When THQ closed its doors a while ago it was sad for many of us and it left a lot of different game franchises we wanted or loved drifting in the wind waiting for some light to be shone on it once more. While some franchises quickly found homes with new developers others still are waiting to find their newest home, thankfully one of THQ’s somewhat popular franchises has now found a new home.
Last year Nordic games bought the rights to the Darksiders IP among other IP’s, but now they are able to add another franchise to their list, this franchise is De Blob.
Yesterday Nordic games announced their acquiring of the De Blob IP from THQ. Nordic games Reinhard Pollice had this to say about the acquisition:
“de Blob is just a great and truly unique franchise. We are excited about what the future holds for this polychromatic extravaganza as the newest addition to our portfolio. We will evaluate opportunities with the existing games, as well as potential sequels.”
As of this point in time we are unaware of what Nordic games paid for the De Blob IP, or any of their plans for the future, or if any time soon we will be seeing a De Blob 3. Here’s hoping we get all these details soon.
