Pedro Pascal Gives Filming Update For The Last Of Us Season 2

As The Last Of Us fast approaches the conclusion to its first, highly successful season, Pedro Pascal, who plays Joel in the HBO adaptation, was asked whether filming for the recently green-lit Season 2 would begin sometime in 2023. The good news is, it might just be happening sooner than we think, as Pascal gave a brief filming update in an interview with Collider, while promoting The Mandalorian Season 3. “In the year 2023? Oh, what season are we in now? We’re getting into spring?” Pascal replied before getting down to specifics. “Yes, there is a chance. Yes.”

Bella Ramsey, who plays Ellie, recently revealed during a spot on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, as reported by GameLuster, that she was keen to expand on Ellie’s character should the second season cover events from The Last Of Us Part II. The actress admitted she wanted to explore “the complexity of her relationship with Joel and how that gets decidedly… more complex.”

There has been no official word on whether the first season will introduce storylines from the second game and how much the next season will cover events from Part II. It is, however, a good bet the series will track them closely, considering how faithful the first season has remained. Fans have long since started making their predictions for who they would cast in The Last Of Us Season 2, including Abby.
