Things really start getting tough once you reach the Castle in Resident Evil 4 Remake. Not only are the enemies tougher, but they’re also smarter and start to employ several traps to ambush you with waves of enemies. One of the more notable times this happens is in the Gallery when a cultist pulls a lever while you’re crossing a bridge that lowers it and allows a swarm of enemies below to attack.
Because this happens in a cutscene, you might think there’s nothing you can do to avoid this, but that’s not the case. As we know from tricks like shooting the bell to trigger the ending cutscene in the Village section, Resident Evil 4 Remake gives you more power to manipulate it than you might expect. Here’s how you can completely bypass the Gallery bridge fight in Resident Evil 4 Remake.
How to Skip the Gallery Bridge Fight in Resident Evil 4 Remake
Once you come to the bridge in the Gallery, but before crossing it, you can see the lever that the cultists will appear to pull and lower the bridge. Before you approach it, take out your Bolt Thrower and shoot an Attachable Mine onto the wall beside the lever. Once planted, move forward and the mine will instantly blast the cultist when he spawns to spring the trap. Regular grenades and flash grenades can also do the trick but are harder to time and you might miss, so mines are the safest bet.
This alone might not kill the cultist, so be quick to run across and finish him off if he’s still alive, but either way, you will have completely avoided one of the harder sequences in this chapter of the game.
