Last week IGN published a preview for the upcoming next game in Image & Form’s Steamworld franchise, according to IGN the game was slated for release in August this year. Image & Form however has confirmed this to not quite be the case, well sort of the development studio is providing a simple ‘2015’ release date and for now they are sticking with it, Image & Form had this to say on the matter:
So our new release window is “2015”. And it won’t be before fall this year. If you’re disappointed I do feel with you. But even worse would be you purchasing an incomplete game, right? We’d never let you experience that. And like I said above: With the extra time we will make SteamWorld Heist the best turn-based, skill-based strategy game with steampunk robots. In space.
The lack of confirmation on a release month is definitely disappointing and I was looking forward to getting my hands on the game in August, though in the long run it does not matter as long as the game is done well and lives to the same standard as Steamworld Dig I think we should be satisfied.
Man. That is disappointing.
I know I was really hoping to see the game by then, hopefully they will bring along the game around September or October. Its a shame I am really looking forward to this game.
