Good news, PS5 owners! If you’re subscribed to PlayStation Plus Premium, you can now access a free two-hour game trial of The Last of Us Part I. The trial has been released following the huge success of HBO’s The Last of Us premiere, which drew in almost five million viewers on its first night. If you’re new to the world of The Last of Us, this is a great place to start.
The Last of Us Part I is a remake of 2013’s The Last of Us, with enhanced combat, more aggressive enemies, as well as drastically improved visuals. The game’s announcement was met with some controversy given just how timeless The Last of Us is for fans, but the remade The Last of Us Part I swayed many after its release with its impressive graphics. We gave it a 9/10 in our review, but if you still have your doubts, you can now try the game before you buy it.
PlayStation Plus Premium is the most expensive tier of PlayStation Plus subscription, being $17.99 (£13.49) per month, or $119.99 (£99.99) for a whole year subscription. As well as access to other game trials, the PlayStation Plus Premium subscription comes with hundreds of additional downloadable games, including PS4/PS5 games, select streaming-only PS3 titles, as well as a small library of downloadable classic PS1 and PSP games.
Your saved data from a PlayStation Plus Premium game trial will carry over to a purchased title, so you can rest easy knowing that your progress won’t go to waste should you choose to carry on with the full purchased game in future.
