The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Gets Collector’s Edition

The hotly anticipated The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is getting a Collector’s Edition, and it looks pretty great. The box includes a whole bunch of Tears of the Kingdom goodies, including a metal poster, steelbook case, artbook, set of four pins and a collector’s box. Thankfully, the Collector’s Edition also includes the game itself too. The Collector’s Edition for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom launches alongside the game later this year on May 12.

Whilst it’s certainly a beautiful bundle, it doesn’t come cheap. The suggested retail price of the Collector’s Edition is $129.99, whilst the standard copy of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be $70. Nintendo is joining other gaming companies like Microsoft and Sony in raising the prices of their first-party titles, with Nintendo’s usual price for their headline games being $60.

Alongside the Collector’s Edition, we also received news of a new Link amiibo. The amiibo figure shows Link holding the new, strange glowing arm he has in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Scanning the amiibo will give the player a special new fabric for their paraglider. In fact, scanning a bunch of Zelda amiibo will give a new design to Link’s trusty, and now customizable, gliding companion. Scanning amiibo figures will also give the player weapons and materials, just as they did in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

The announcement of the physical collectables for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom came alongside a new trailer, showcasing the game’s darker tone. There are also new sky areas showcased, as well as, seemingly, confirmation of explorable underground areas. Check out the full trailer if you haven’t yet right here.
