The Sims 4 To Introduce ‘Scenarios’ in Next Base Game Update

In a free content update next week, The Sims 4 will be introducing a new mode called ‘scenarios’ as explained in the Inside Maxis live stream on Twitch.

The Sims 4 seems to be pumping out base game content updates on a regular basis, with the ‘scenarios’ game mode being called “a new way to play The Sims” by “providing players with different situations to work towards an outcome.” The Sims 4 team add that there are going to be different outcomes for different scenarios and it is down to the player to work out how to achieve the outcomes, with there being multiple ways to reach each.

Although it sounds a tad confusing, The Sims 4 team note that there will be two scenarios launching in the update next week which are called ‘Making Money’ and ‘Finding Love After A Breakup’. To explain how these work a bit further, the team member known as SimGuruDuck (great name!) says ‘Making Money’ places your Sim in a situation where they have zero Simoleons in their bank account; to complete the scenario, you have to work your way up to 1 million Simoleons, through noble or not so noble means!

As for ‘Finding Love After A Breakup’, there was not much revealed in the live stream, but you can probably expect it to be more or less exactly what it says on the tin.

You can access scenarios through the main menu and create your household as you would normally, but some scenarios may require a certain number of household members. SimGuruDuck adds that new scenarios called ‘Too Many Toddlers’ and ‘Perfectly Well-rounded’ will be coming in after launch for a limited time only. Once you complete a scenario, your Sim is rewarded with satisfaction points.

The Sims 4 also recently had a large base game update to add more colour variants and fashion kits.

The Sims 4 is available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and as backwards compatibility for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
