The Super Mario Bros. Movie Toys Officially Revealed

At the start of the month, we reported the news that toy company Jakks Pacific were set to release a collection of toys inspired by The Super Mario Bros. Movie, heading to the big screen on April 7th. At the time of writing that article, the toys had been revealed as a result of a leak, but now the collection has finally officially been confirmed!

The official reveal has come from IGN, and shows us the figurines of Mario, Luigi, Peach and Toad. The four also come with an accessory which matches their character: Mario of course has his plunger, Peach is equipped her iconic pink parasol, Luigi is clutching a flashlight from his ghost hunting days and Toad has a trusty frying pan. We’re also hoping the leaked fire-breathing Bowser will be making an appearance when the line hits stores later next month.

IGN does go on to say that the full line will be revealed on Feb. 26, and they believe the collection will include “posable figures, accessories, playsets, plushies, and remote control toys.” The line is set to be released on the same day. Jakks Pacific is no stranger to this franchise, after previously releasing Mario figures, play-sets and plushies in the past.

These toys are set to be released leading up to the release of The Super Mario Bros. Movie, a movie from Nintendo and Illumination starring Chris Pratt as Mario, as he travels through an underground labyrinth with his brother, Luigi, as they race to save Princess Peach from capture. The movie has already received a huge marketing push, so it’s no surprise that they have also turned to merchandise in order to promote the movie.
