Next-Generation Xbox Reportedly Coming in 2020

A new Thurrott report suggests that the next generation Xbox will be released in 2020.

The report also reiterated that the Microsoft codename for the new project is Scarlet, referencing that it will be a “family of devices” rather than just one.

This has yet to be confirmed by Microsoft, but in Microsoft’s Xbox E3 press conference, head of Xbox Phil Spencer stated that their team is “deep into architecting the next Xbox consoles,” suggesting that they are working on several pieces of hardware, not just a sole console.

Next-gen consoles have also had their first games announced. Bethesda announced that their future Starfield game will be a next-gen game, along with the sixth adaptation in the Elder Scrolls series. It is also rumored that Microsoft’s own Halo Infinite reveal suggested that it will be for next-gen consoles. As always, time will tell.
