Blair Witch Coming To Oculus Quest October 29

Bloober’s Blair Witch is heading to Oculus Quest, according to an announcement trailer released yesterday. Blair Witch: Oculus Quest Edition will be released on PC October 29, and with Halloween right around the corner, this announcement couldn’t have come at a better time.

The trailer has all the horror trimmings Bloober specializes in for its take on the Blair Witch tale. Players take control of former police officer Ellis Lynch, accompanied by his trusted dog Bullet, as they investigate the disappearance of a missing boy in the Black Hills forest of Burkittsville, Maryland. There have been no further details about Blair Witch being released on other VR devices, such as PlayStation VR for the PlayStation 4.

Blair Witch was launched in August 2019, becoming a console exclusive for the Xbox One and releasing onto PC at the same time.

With the wave of next-gen consoles little more than a month away, Bloober is some of the busiest game makers in the industry. The company recently announced that Observer: System Redux would be released for both the Xbox Series X/S and the PlayStation 5. The next-gen version of the game boasts technological upgrades, including ray tracing, HDR lighting, character models and animations, and new 4K textures.

However, there’s more. The Polish studio has been throwing everything but the kitchen sink into its next-gen productions, as it showcased the dual reality trailer for The Medium during the Xbox Games Showcase in July. A patent was granted to Bloober in 2019, three years after it was filed. The end result allows Bloober to render two separate worlds, merging them as one to allow players to play within the two worlds simultaneously. The Medium is due for release Holiday 2020 on PC and Xbox Series X/S. It is available for pre-order now.
