Dead by Daylight just dropped its latest DLC chapter, which is the long-anticipated collaboration with iconic gaming horror series Five Nights at Freddy’s. Fans have been clamouring for the crossover for years and it seems it’s paying off, because Dead by Daylight just hits its highest ever concurrent Steam player count – crossing over 106,000 concurrent killers and survivors for the first time on Steam!
This is the highest concurrent player count that Dead by Daylight has ever gotten, with former peaks being associated with free-to-try weekends on Steam, the Resident Evil collaboration, and the release of the 2v8 game mode. As exciting as these were, they don’t compare to the hype and anticipation that many had to finally see the legendary Springtrap make his appearance as a playable Killer in Dead by Daylight.
Alongside the new Springtrap killer with associated perks, the new update today also introduced purchasable cosmetics for Springtrap, along with new Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza shirts for all original Dead by Daylight survivor characters. There’s also a wealth of new quality of life improvements, which have been a heavy focus for the developers at Behaviour Interactive as the game rapidly approaches its tenth year active next year.
