EA Rolls Out Final Update For Battlefield V

The final Battlefield V content update has been released. The Summer Update follows the conclusion of Chapter 6: Into The Jungle. The update will offer new maps, weapons, and vehicles into Battlefield V.

Despite being the last content update, EA and DICE will continue to deliver on new Community Games and Company customization options going forward.

The Summer Update, most notably, introduces two new maps. While one is entirely brand new, the other is an expanded version. The first comes in the form of the Al Mark Encampment in Libya. Designed for 64 players in both Conquest and Breakthrough modes, it’s also an infantry only battlefield.

The second is Provence. Expanded for this update, the French Map has been designed for tank combat on the outskirts of the town. Both the U.S. and German armies are playable within the maps.

Additional tweaks have been made to Al Sundan, Twisted Steel, and Panzerstorm. Extra configurations are also available for Squad Conquest and Team Deathmatch.

Elsewhere, 14 new soldier characters have been introduced on the U.S. side, with two additional soldiers for Japan. Both sides offer a wide range of new weapons for each class. The update will add the Battlefield community to a further nine unique weapons, six new vehicles, five new gadgets, and three types of grenades.

Last October, EA announced that a new Battlefield game would be coming to next-gen consoles. The game is anticipated for the fiscal year of 2022.

During a Q2 2020 training call, CEO Andrew Wilson announced: “Targeting innovation that will be enabled by next-gen platforms and a growing installed base on the new consoles, our next Battlefield game is set for FY ’22.”
